ERDC TARMAC Mobile App

This is the ERDC Thermal Analysis and Reporting for Military Asphalt Construction (TARMAC) app. TARMAC takes in streaming data from a USB-connected FLIR One thermal camera and processes it for thermal-based defects. It provides QA/QC personnel with the ability to interrogate newly placed asphalt mats for thermal-based defects like thermal segregation and minimum/maximum compaction temperature deviation. Processing is done automatically and all data products are saved to the device's local storage. A local SQLITE database is also implemented to allow for separate projects to be saved and modified.

Notes:
1. Android restricts app access to the device's root directories and requires app data to be stored in a specifically designated folder for each app. For ERDC TARMAC, this folder should be located on the phone at the following internal location.

PHONE_NAME\Internal storage\Android\data\mil.army.usace.erdc_tarmac\files

Be aware that uninstalling the app deletes this folder and all of its contents. Backup app data on another device prior to uninstall.

The only exception to this for TARMAC is the collected imagery. The thermal, processed, and EO imagery collected by the app are stored in the device's Pictures directory and will persist even if the app is uninstalled.

2. TARMAC was designed specifically to be used with the FLIR One or FLIR One Pro thermal camera. This software will not work with any other thermal camera.

3. TARMAC is designed for Android smartphones running Android 13 (Tiramisu) and above.
