PCASE Workshop Recordings and Material
We make PCASE workshop recordings and materials available to those in the Pacific and Southwest Asia, people who have time constraints that prevent them from attending a PCASE workshop, and people who just want to review workshop modules. You do not have to register for a workshop to access the recordings. Just sign in with your email and password or create a new login. You can either view the recordings on-line or download them as well as the materials from the most recent workshop. If you have any questions, please email george.w.vansteenburg@usace.army.mil.

Airfield pavement evaluation workshop with focus on evaluation fundamentals and functionality of PCASE 7.0, including setting up Inventory, the Evaluation Checklist, the Dynamic Cone Penetrometer DCP module, the Airfield Pavement Evaluation APE Module, and PCASE Evaluation Reports. There will be an optional session on day 4 covering layered elastic analysis.

PCASE is the DoD's pavement design and evaluation application. This four, half-day hands-on computer workshop will be conducted using WebEx and will cover pavement evaluation fundamentals as well as live demonstration / hands-on exercises. The primary focus is on APE CBR/k analysis of paved surfaces using DCP data. Day 4 will include an optional session discussing the Layered Elastic Evaluation Program LEEP module. There will be optional homework assigned each day and an end of course exercise that students will complete and return to get a certificate of completion.

2024 Tri-Service Pavement-Transportation Meeting 2/26/2024-3/1/2024

The annual Tri-Service Pavements-Transportation meeting serves as a platform for updating HQ and Field Operating Agency-level government and advisory and assistance contract employees in the pavement-transportation community. It also provides a forum for exchanging ideas and establishing inter-service relationships.
The 2024 meeting will be conducted at the Denver Federal Center in Denver CO. The main sessions will be help on 27 to 29 Feb with breakout sessions by invitation on the afternoon of 26 Feb and the morning of 1 Mar. The will also (listen-only) virtual option via WebEx. The agenda will be available at the link above as soon as it is finalized. The meeting week will include updates from Subject Matter Experts on current issues, updates from Industry representatives, presentations on management, planning, design, and construction topics, and updates from Service labs and the FAA on current research. Registration is required ahead of time to be able to attend remotely.

RAILROAD TRACK STANDARDS AND MAINTENANCE 1/8/2024-1/19/2024

The Railroad Track Standards and Maintenance Course is offered by the Joint Munitions Command (JMC) under the Army Dams & Transportation Infrastructure Program (ADTIP). This course is primarily intended for those who will be performing actual railroad inspection duties and thus require US Army Track Inspector certification as set forth in AR 420-1. However, others such as design engineers, transportation officers, Army National Guard or Reserve Component rail transportation personnel, etc. are encouraged to attend. Students in this course will gain an in-depth understanding of UFC 4-860-03 Railroad Track Maintenance & Safety Standards, which governs inspection and maintenance of all Department of Defense owned railroad track. The course will focus on the basic components of railroad track, their function and importance, and the standards to which each component is required to be maintained. Training will include fieldwork where students will perform different aspects of a visual detailed railroad track inspection according to UFC 4- 860-03. Students will also be exposed to maintenance and repair techniques necessary to sustain an operational track network. At the conclusion of the course, students will have an opportunity to take the US Army Certified Track Inspector test, which is one of the criteria that must be met to become a US Army Certified Track Inspector (CTI).
