Description: This Headquarters, Installation Management Command (IMCOM), G4 Facility Investment Division (FID) in partnership with the Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) and the Transportation Systems Center manages this training course. This is a 4 day course and is based on the airfield pavement evaluation process, pavement maintenance and repair techniques, developing projects, preventive maintenance techniques, and discuss how the reported results can assist the installations in managing their airfield pavement infrastructure. The training will begin with general discussions on airfield pavement types, design considerations, construction practices, structural evaluation, surface condition inspections, maintenance and repair strategies, and pavement management. The training will continue with detailed discussions with the airfield management team on the structural evaluation results presented in the reports to include the mission traffic, aircraft classification numbers, pavement classification numbers, and strategies for managing aircraft operations on the airfield facilities. The condition survey data presented in the reports will be discussed in detail along with an introduction to the PAVER software package. PAVER software is implemented on both the Airfield and the Roads and Parking pavement at each IMCOM installation. For the pavement infrastructure, discussions will continue with the importance of pavement management and how the reports and PAVER software can be used for developing maintenance and repair strategies aimed to optimize available budgets and pavement performance. Lectures will include family modeling, inventory creation and updating, work history, real property unique ids and distress maintenance policies. The IMCOM Airfield Pavement Training will be conducted on 24-25 October 2022 followed by the Basic PAVER Training on 26-27 October 2022 at the same location.
Who Can Attend? The course is intended for DPW engineers, technicians, contract inspectors and airfield operations personnel.
